Job Description:

Weber Shandwick is more than a leading global PR agency – we’re an engagement agency and we’re working in and around the cutting edge of the new media landscape. We’re storytellers, content creators, and we engage people IN the story. We employ the best in the industry and beyond, working across sectors including consumer, healthcare, technology, public affairs, crisis management, social impact, and digital/social media. Our success is built on a deep commitment to client service and to our people. We embrace creativity and collaboration, and we engage stakeholders in new and creative ways to build brands and reputations.

Weber Shandwick is seeking an Integrated Media Intern for its growing technology practice. Internships are full-time, paid and a three-month commitment. Here’s who we’re looking for:

Qualifications:

  • Social media savvy: Do you have an understanding of social media platforms, relevant experience in running an account or reporting on various channels? Have you ever used social media in a crisis or for employee communications?
  • Understanding of the PR field: Though we don’t expect you to be an expert on the industry when you walk in the door, part of your internship goals will be around understanding the industry you’re working in. Any knowledge you have before then is a bonus!
  • Media Monitoring: “Did you see that article?” Ability to identify flag-worthy news to clients is a huge plus.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment: Have you ever had an interest in joining the circus because you love to juggle different things? Agency life is fast-paced, so if that sounds like you, let us know!
  • Time management: Can you prioritize tasks and manage workloads? Do you own a planner (that you may have given a nickname) that never leaves your side? Do you have an intricate series of post-it notes that dictates your workday? We like your style!
  • Strong written/oral communication style: We want you to ask questions! If you’re responsive, proactively communicate with teammates, and possess superior writing skills, then you’re what we’re looking for!
  • Research and analysis: Do you have a knack for quickly becoming knowledgeable on a given topic or industry? If you do, and then like to share everything you’ve learned with the group, that’s amazing and exactly what we want.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office: strong knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint is a must
  • Previous internship experience preferred
  • Background in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism or related field preferred
  • Strong interest or experience in technology
  • Available to work 40 hours per week, full time.

 Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
