A few members of our Seattle team are well known for their strong (and sometimes, over the top) Zag pride. Last month, a couple of these… enthusiastic Gonzaga alums were given the opportunity to return to their former stomping grounds for a two-day event with one of our clients, General Motors.

Our Seattle crew partnered with team members from Weber Shandwick Los Angeles to support a popular General Motors event, Chevy Drive Thru Finals. With the goal of giving students a break from the stresses of studying for finals, Chevy rolled into Spokane with fun rides and free food.

Yes, we said free food.

The GM and Weber Shandwick teams worked in partnership with the Gonzaga Student Body Association (GSBA) on the event, marking just the second time this has been held outside of the state of California.

The two-day event included a ridiculous amount of fries, tater tots, milkshakes and burgers, and gave Gonzaga students the opportunity to check out some of Chevy’s latest models – including the newly redesigned Tahoe SUV; the Volt electric car; the new Corvette Stingray, America’s favorite race car and Car of the Year; and the all-new Silverado 1500.

By coordinating with the GSBA and other on-campus groups to promote the event, we attracted more than 700 students and local media coverage. The students were thrilled to take some time away from the library and study groups to hop in a new cool ride and snap some photos with the flashy Stingray. And did we mention the free food?
