“Two Minutes With” is Weber Shandwick Seattle’s employee spotlight series that provides professional and personal insight into our rockstar team. Today we sit down with our new video production manager, Jacob Leander. Enjoy!
Tell us a little bit about you and your background.
I was born in Spokane, WA and moved to Seattle when I was 20 years old. I have worked for the last seven years producing and working different crew positions on every type of production, from movies to TV shows and commercials. I’ve had a pretty unusual and interesting life. As a teenager, our family traveled the race circuit of the Unlimited Hydroplanes that race at SeaFair. My first job was working on those boats until I was 17 years old. I also used to be an avid snowboarder and I was an instructor for a few years. Oh, I was also in a band with Ryan Lewis in high school. I have always been an adrenaline junkie; if it is something a person could die from, then I will usually be up to try it at least once (i.e. skydiving, cliff jumping, snowboarding in dangerous places, etc.).
Three words that describe you?
Compassionate, passionate & focused.
Why Weber Shandwick?
Weber Shandwick was a great opportunity because of the core team involved, as well as the opportunity to be part of a growing production arm with a successful, growing and well established firm. It’s a producer’s dream opportunity. The office shares a similar work ethic and personality as my own and everyone is incredibly talented at their craft. Very exciting all the way around.
When not working, what would people find you doing?
Usually sleeping because I tend to work every waking hour! Otherwise enjoying a good gin and ginger ale or at a lake in the mountains.
