For the second year, Weber Shandwick Seattle had the distinct pleasure of serving as the engagement partner for the Washington Technology Industry Association’s TechNW event – an event that brings together local tech players to learn from each other, network and grow their businesses.
This year, TechNW 2012 focused on start-ups and the entrepreneurial spirit of Seattle’s technology industry. The event featured panels with venture capitalists who discussed early stage and growth stage investing. Other vibrant speakers covered high growth areas such as mobile and ecommerce, gaming, big data and the cloud. So how do you capture the vitality and excitement of Seattle’s tech community? We decided to engage, via video interviews, with a handful of WTIA members to learn more about our local technology scene and discuss the importance of attracting and retaining a strong technology workforce in the Pacific Northwest.
While the resulting conversations were as diverse as those we interviewed, the consensus was largely the same and stated best by GeekWire’s John Cook in his pre-event coverage of the interview series: “…Seattle’s tech community is so awesome…” We couldn’t agree more, John!
A big thanks to the WTIA for the opportunity to engage with our awesome tech community again. We’re already looking forward to 2013!
