Weber Shandwick’s proudest WSU alum will be trekking across the great plains of the Palouse to present at the 2012 Edward R. Murrow Symposium at Washington State University on April 5. In a follow-up to last year’s “Br@ndU” prezi, my colleagues and I will share our personal stories of success from transforming Cougars into professional communicators.
As a senior Communication Major, I attended Weber Shandwick’s workshop at the symposium in 2011 and was immediately inspired. I knew that I wanted to work for an agency with global reach that was still carefully rooted in local businesses and startups. After landing an internship with Weber’s Tech Practice in July, I quickly learned the ways of managing a global client on the Samsung Electronics account. Six months later I was offered a full-time position and it’s been an amazing experience ever since.
This Thursday, I will be back at WSU, except this time, I’ll be sharing my story of what it’s really like going from WSU grad to PR Pro. Come check us out!
