Hip hip hooray! Weber Shandwick and sister agency Current were excited to accept a 2012 Totem Award and two Certificates of Excellence at the PRSA Totem Awards banquet, held at Seattle’s ACT Theatre on February 9.

A symbol of creativity and accomplishment for the PR industry, the PRSA Totem Awards honor the best public relations programs, tactics and practitioners in the region. The banquet featured some of the most decorated PR practitioners in the Puget Sound region, and it was a delight to rub elbows with some of the most creative minds in the industry.

Local funnyman Pat Cashman and PRSA Chapter President Suzanne Hartman were on hand to announce the winners, including:

  • In the category of Media Relations – News Releases, Current’s Telenav team was honored with a Totem Award for “Navigating the Phone Wars.”
  • In the category of Institutional Programs – Government, the U.S. Army team was recognized with a Certificate of Excellence for “Throwing Bloggers From a Plane.”
  • In the category of Marketing Communications – Consumer Products, the Motorola team was recognized with a Certificate of Excellence for the Motorola PHOTON 4G reviews program.

A big shout-out to the Seattle Art Museum for its compelling keynote presentation and Best of Show win for last year’s amazing Picasso exhibit and accompanying PR push that took the city by storm. Congratulations to all the winners and their outstanding PR achievements.
