We all know a great story when we see or hear one.

In the end, stories may evoke a wide range of emotion or reaction for different audiences but in most cases, there are a common core set of elements that are consistent across all great stories.

Too often, we see brands struggle when they fail to embrace good storytelling as a clear path to strong audience engagement. For iconic brands, it’s no small task to continue to keep your community engaged in your brand foundation.

A couple weeks ago, I stumbled upon a gem of  a video that explores the life of a collector, artist and retired teacher and his history with a 40-year old Dodge Charger. In a digital era where it’s often considered a sin to create a brand video that surpasses two minutes, this is a stellar example of captivating storytelling.

Take note of how quickly the filmmakers engage viewers by quickly establishing the setting and creating a quick tie to the human element that carries throughout. This is the type of authentic storytelling that I hope we continue to see increase from brands of all sizes. It’s this type of creative content that pulls to light brand advocacy and motivates others to want to be a part of a community.

Feel free to share some links below to other great storytelling samples you’ve come across.
