At Weber Shandwick Seattle we take our craft, and our draft, very seriously. I only need point to our St. Patrick’s Day office party to make my case. It was like the dot.com heyday all over again – microbrews mixed with fun activities mixed with free (green) food mixed with real-time working, and all of it happened at the office (at least the part we’re willing to put in our official office blog). The only thing missing was penny stock options, but then again, maybe those weren’t really missed.

In all seriousness, though, creativity is a huge part of delivering the best communications strategies and freshest thinking that we can to clients. So naturally we decided to keep the creative juices flowing, along with the festive beverages, during the party by honing our craft; as in, the My Pet Blarney Stone arts ‘n craft corner at the party.

As you may be aware, the Blarney Stone legend goes something like this: a really famous bluestone is built into Blarney Castle near Cork, Ireland. If you kiss the Blarney Stone, you receive the gift of gab (or eloquence, if you prefer). The word “blarney” actually means “clever, flattering or coaxing talk.”  The word does carry an insidious undertone if you check out the definition on Dictionary.com, but basically “blarney” is a word we could all use to enrich our vocabularies.

All blarney aside, check out some of our beloved My Pet Blarney Stone creations!
