Mobile World Congress had record attendance this year – close to 60,000 – with a lot of energy around new innovations in the mobile industry.
This show used to be all about new mobile phones. There are no doubt lots of new devices on display, but now it’s more about the various ways mobile technology is transforming how we live in the world. One keynote speaker talked about how, with mobile technology, we’re never lost, we never forget, and we’re never lonely. Another mentioned that the average smartphone today has more computing power than the first lunar mission. Kind of mind-blowing.
Weber Shandwick had several clients at the Congress – all with cool and exciting things to announce and show. I also loved seeing the collaboration between Weber Shandwick teams from offices around the world including London, Singapore, Beijing, Barcelona and Seattle. I encourage you to hop over to Mashable to check out their photo recap of the event and Engadget has also posted a nice collection of posts.
Thanks Barcelona and look forward to another great event next year!
