It’s no secret that the Weber Shandwick Seattle office has a major sweet tooth, which is why we brought back Pi Day for a second year of lattice top crusts and whipped cream.
This year, a group of four judges (including yours truly) tasted nine different pies in sweet and savory categories. Pi Day 2016 also introduced a new category: Pie Cocktail, which was won by Sergei Sedykin, one of the newest members of the Weber Shandwick Seattle team!
Despite strong competition in the other categories, the winners of this year’s bake-off claimed back-to-back wins for their amazing recipes: Mike Young’s take on Key Lime Pie once again won the sweet category, while Cindy Yee’s new Italian Savory recipe triumphed in the savory category. As a judge for both the first- and second-annual Pi Day bake-offs, I can confidently say that they were just as tasty as last year’s winning submissions.
Who will challenge their undefeated status in 2017? Only time will tell. See you next year, Pi Day!
